Even though Viva Kerala has recruited some of the best Malayalee talent available, the club is yet to start its preparation camp for the season ahead.
According to officials, some minor arrangements have to be finalized before the team can assemble. Club officials are eager to start the camp as soon as possible. This young players may need more time to build a well-gelled unit. Apart from this, all major Indian clubs (also those participating in the 2nd Divison I-League) have already started their preseason. The first rounds of the Federation Cup are slated to take place in September and the Viva team has to be ready by then. There are no news on the sponsorship as well as the foreigners issue. The club management is confident about getting a good financial backing this season, but does not want to hurry in recruiting the foreign players. "Foreign players are making the difference in Indian football. Last season we recruited the Ghanaian players in a hurry and that decision cost us as we were not aware of their injuries. We will take a more sophisticated approach this time", says a club official.
