Viva Kerala won its quarterfinal match of the Bhagath Soccer Tournament by 2-0 against Golden Threads.
The goals were scored in the second half by substitutes Sakeer and Siraj. Even though the match was won, coach Sreedharan was not too happy with the display. "We played ok, but we have to improve in the semifinal against Malabar United."
Siraj was brought in for young midfielder Saleel who, after coming back from an injury, was not fully fit to stay on the field for the entire 90 minutes. The next match against Malabar United would be played on January 1st 2009.
Viva: Shahinlal - Sajesh, Mansa, Noushad, Sathish - Firoz (Sakeer) - Saleel (Siraj), Conte, Lalu - Sabeeth, Shibin.
