It was only a solitary-goal win which ensured that Viva maintained an all-win run in the ongoing Cochin Premier League. Thus, Viva finished at the top of the "Pool A" table with a maximum of 15 points.

Substitute striker V.K. Shibinlal scored the all-important goal in the 44th minute after coming on four minutes earlier. In the 40th minute, C.S. Sabeeth had to be taken off due to an injury and he was replaced by Shibin.

 

The Viva boys should be well disappointed that they only managed to score one goal against a rather weak Cochin Port Trust outfit. Especially Nigerian Baba Tunde missed a lot of opportunities. Apart from that, the team combined well and created numerous chances according to reports. Chief Coach Sreedharan now has about two weeks to get the boys into the final shape for the 2nd Division I-League.

 

Viva's first match of the campaign is scheduled to be held on March 6th.
