Viva's coach A.M. Sreedharan is a happy man since the conditioning camp started. He was very eager to start the camp as early as possible to enhance Viva's chances in the coming 2nd Division I-League. He tells us of his first week in 2008/2009 in his latest column.
A.M. Sreedharan lets us take an insight look in his new column, which you can read here. It seems as if the coach is very content with the young and ambitious players that the club signed this year.
Viva Kerala will also play a practice match against a Nigerian team. The match, organized by a Keralite sports agency, is set to take place in Kochi and will be a good exposure for the young players. Young Saleel and Lalu are yet to report to the camp as they are still recovering from injuries. A. Devadasan and Mohammed Helmy are also among the absentees.
Surely, the team has to gear up as other teams are already playing competetive matches. Salgaocar SC from Goa - which will also feature in this season's 2nd Division I League - is quite successful at the ongoing Durand Cup. Viva on the other hand has just started its camp. Shillong Lajong SC from North-East India recently accounced a sponsorship deal with strong Aircel while our own Viva Kerala is struggling to find any financial backing.
Still, a lot to do for our favorite club.
