Malayalam newspaper Deepika reports that Viva's two remaining Ghanaian players, Wisdom Abbey and defender Amankwah Mireku will not be able to take the field in Ludhiana.
The Ghana Football Association has not issued the necessary NOCs (No Objection Certificates) so far, mainly due to payment reasons.
In the wake of these news, it seems very difficult for the team to advance to the next round of this season's first competition.
To add woes, defender-cum-midfielder Chiman Apparao had to leave the camp because of family issues back in Mumbai. This means that the team will have to compete in Ludhiana without four important players which could otherwise have played a vital part for the Kerala side. Amankwah Mireku, Wisdom Abbey, Jo Paul Ancheri and Chiman Apparao will stay behind. Especially the non-availability of Mireku means that other defensive players in the squad will have to rise to the challenge and come up with some extra efforts. It seems as if the back line will comprise of Sajin, Sunil Kumar, Othallo Tabia and S. Arun while Abbey's absence upfront is likely to be compensated by the duo of Jotin Singh and O.K. Javeed.
