vivakerala.net: What is the current status of the club's preparation for the next season? 
Liaquat Ali: So far, we have signed 13 players. Everything else is going on well and we are doing a lot of background work now.

vivakerala.net: Will more players be signed during the coming weeks? 
Liaquat Ali: Yes, definitely. Our coach will travel to Tamil Nadu and observe the Santosh Trophy matches. We should go for any suitable player that he identifies during the tournament. So far, our backline has been strenghtened considerably. I am especially excited by our new signing Marzook of Calicut University.

vivakerala.net: Are there any plans to sign well-known players?
Liaquat Ali: Of course, we would like to have established players in our squad provided they can help the team to reach its goals. But that is a matter of money and financing.

vivakerala.net: Which leads directly to the next question: Are there any updates on the sponsorship issue?
Liaquat Ali: Let me tell you that the sponsorship talks are progressing and I hope that the deal will be finalized by mid-June. I don't want to mention any names or make any definitive statements unless the contract is signed.

vivakerala.net: Would you rather use the possible resources related with a sponsorship to invest in the quality of the squad or to improve the club's facilities?
Liaquat Ali: Our short-term goal is to sustain our spot in the I-League. Hence we would attract new players to the club in the first place. Of course in the long-term, the club's infrastructure would be upgraded.

vivakerala.net: Are there any news regarding the foreign players?
Liaquat Ali: We have identified three Liberian players who would be suitable for the club. However, I can reveal the names only when the contracts have been signed.
