vivakerala.net: How do you rate the win against Air-India? A.M. Sreedharan: It was an important match and win. I told my boys that we were in do-or-die situation and I am very happy that we could take full advantage. vk.net: Was Air-India a tough opponent? S: Yes, definitely! It was a match against an equal standard team. AI fought very well and they also had two former Viva players in Khelemba Singh and James SIngh. We struggled in the first ten minutes, but afterwards could regain control over the match. We can be very content with the result. vk.net: Did you think that a win was still possible with only 3 minutes to go? S: Surely! We always fight until the last whistle. Sakeer is the captain of the team and he truly showed so. He took responsibility with his solo and finished it off beautifully. It was a fantastic goal. I think it was also due to this goal that he got the MOTM-award. vk.net: A quick comment on yesterday's floodlight failure? S: It was embarrassing. Incidents like this kill off football in our state. So many fans travelled from far away places to watch the team play. So many fans are angry and dissappointed...and rightly so! Now, the responsible people are blaming each other. And ultimately, our team will suffer, if our fans desert us after this incident. A good crowd always helps to inspire the team.
