Baba and Bello Rasaq sign for Viva Print E-mail
Saturday, 14 February 2009
According to reports received here, Nigerian players Baba Tunde and veteran Bello Rasaq signed for Viva Kerala and thus filled the foreign player-quota for the coming 2nd Division I-League.

Viva was facing several problems regarding the foreign player issue over the past couple of weeks. First, in mid-November, Guinean players Sylla Mansa and Mohammad Conte joined the squad. However, at the beginning of February the team management decided to replace the midfielder Conte with Viva's former striker Badmus Baba Tunde.

The issue then developed into a major problem when Sylla Mansa's visa could not be extended and Baba Tunde could not be registered due to some unfinished paperwork at his former club, Salgaocar SC. While Baba Tunde went to Goa in order to sort out things with the Goan club, the management tried to secure the services of veteran defender/midfielder Bello Rasaq who was part of Mahindra United during the last season. Both operations proved to be successful and the Nigerian duo already signed the necessary papers to make them eligible to play for Viva Kerala.
