Dear Fans,

 

the group assignments of the Cochin Premier League are over now and we will use the coming two weeks to gain the final shape for our 2nd Division I-League matches. From now on, we will only have one training session per day.

 

I can say that our team is very young and experienced, but nevertheless, the fighting spirit is existent among the boys. Of course, we had a problem regarding our foreign players. The visas of Mohammed Conte and Sylla Mansa could not be extended and hence we had to make some last-minute alternations. I believe we signed an experienced and dependable defender in Bello Rasaq. He has already infused some much-needed confidence to our young defenders. Upfront we hope that Baba Tunde can again work his magic as he did in 2006/2007 when we gained promotion for the first time.

 

In my opinion, we are a good and balanced side. If we compare our players individually with those of Salgaocar SC, Malabar United, Titanium and even other Kerala teams, we have to say that these teams might be superior to us since they have state players and even Indian international players among their ranks. The real strength of our team is the team-spirit and team-work. If we focus on this asset, we have every reason to be optimistic.

 

I am also happy that all players are fit and thus I can select the best-available squad for the 2nd Division assignments. As I earlier said, stars do not make a team, it is the combination that matters. This should be our mantra.

 

With the help of you all, we can do well. Please continue to support us and we would be happy if you come and cheer for us during our matches at the Maharaja's College Ground in Ernakulam.
