Dear Viva Fans,

 

duirng the current weeks and trainings sessions, we are not only trying to increase the physical fitness of our players, but also to build the confidence needed to play competetive matches.

As you may know, most of my boys are very young and have so far not received any truly professional football training. So right now, we are playing exhibition matches against local teams in order to gain experience and get a better coordination of the movements.

 

In the first week, the players were very tired after sessions, but despite this, everyone likes the hard and exhausting training sessions. These players are improving, but still most of the boys are raw materials. Their quality is potential. In one or two years, they will help our club a lot. But in order to achieve our goals this season, we need some reinforcements. Two Indian players and the three foreigners are still to be recruited. As per my latest conversation with the directors, the foreigners along with George Tutu shall be here by the end of the month. 

The problem so far has been, that we had and entirely new team each year. It is difficult to work with a whole new set of players every season. From this year on, we want to follow the example of successful Dempo SC who retain nearly all of their players and make high quality signings to strenghten their squad punctually. Of course, it is a long way to go for us as we still have to get the needed financial backing in order to survive in India's big league. But we made a promising start now.

 

Next week, the players will get a three-day break for Onam festivities.
