Dhronacharya trophy: Viva Kerala 2-1 Malabar United

vivanews.jpgViva Kerala came back from a one goal deficit to defeat Malabar United 2-1 in 3rd Navy Day Invitation Football Championship for Dhronacharya trophy at Parade Grounds in Fort Kochi.
 
 
 

Malabar United started the match with 4 3 3 formation, Javed, Prasoon and Firoz upfront. With three strikers Malabar played good attacking football and took lead in 7th Minute when Asif K found the back of the net of a cross from Javed OK.

Few minutes later Firoz was denied a goal by a good effort from Viva goalkeeper. Viva took time to get a hold into the match and were unable to score till the end of first half.

Viva started second half playing better football and soon was rewarded with a goal. 43 minutes into the game Viva won a freekick. The kick taken by Surjith came off Malabar defender and fell for Anish KP who made no mistakes to put the ball inside the net from the D.

The goal turned the match around and Viva found better grip in the game. The team started to play better as the match progressed. Viva Kerala’s second goal came at 63′ when MP Sakeer scored of a cross from Anish KP and the team didn’t have much problems holding onto it.

Malabar United were unable to field their foreign players for the match as they are yet to receive the transfer certificate .

KSEB will play Universal Soccer School in the first semi final on 26th and Viva Kerala will play Central Excise in second semifinal.
