Viva Kerala's hopes of making it to the final round of the Federation Cup tournament in Kolkata were dashed as the team lost heavily to local HAL by 0-4.

 

But Viva's game was not as bad as the scoreline might suggest. Even though HAL were the dominating force, Viva Kerala also had their chances, but the young strikers as well as midfielder Sakeer failed in converting numerous chances that came their way. Had it not been for goalie N.M. Anoop, the margin could have been much higher.

 

The inexperienced Viva players should take this result as a lesson and now focus on preparing for the 2nd Division I-League in 2009.
